چکیده

The heat equation posed on the half-line may be used as a simple mathematical model describing the operation of an amperometric ion sensor. These sensors represent the next generation of sensors that are in routine use today. Such sensors may be used to measure ion concentrations in the laboratory, for clinical analysis, environmental monitoring, process and quality control, biomedical analysis, and in physiological applications. Study of the heat equation and its solutions provides insight into the operation of these ion sensors.

Determining detection limits of aqueous anions using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

Background: Pulsed amperometric detection is a relatively new method for detection of ions and especially nonelectrolytes such as carbohydrates in aqueous solutions. Pulsed amperometric detection relies on a redox reaction while electrochemical impedance simply measures the real and capacitive resistant of the solution. There is a correlation between the real impedance of a solution and the ion...

Simultaneous Voltammetric/Amperometric Determination of Sulfide and Nitrite in Water at BDD Electrode

This work reported new voltammetric/amperometric-based protocols using a commercial boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode for simple and fast simultaneous detection of sulfide and nitrite from water. Square-wave voltammetry operated under the optimized working conditions of 0.01 V step potential, 0.5 V modulation amplitude and 10 Hz frequency allowed achieving the best electroanalytical parameter...

Development of an Analytical Protocol for Determination of Cyanide in Human Biological Samples Based on Application of Ion Chromatography with Pulsed Amperometric Detection

A simple and accurate ion chromatography (IC) method with pulsed amperometric detection (PAD) was proposed for the determination of cyanide ion in urine, sweat, and saliva samples. The sample pretreatment relies on alkaline digestion and application of Dionex OnGuard II H cartridge. Under the optimized conditions, the method showed good linearity in the range of 1-100 μg/L for urine, 5-100 μg/L...

Amperometric Determination of Ascorbic Acid in Pharmaceutical Formulations by a Reduced Graphene Oxide-cobalt Hexacyanoferrate Nanocomposite

Investigation of the redox properties of drugs and their determination are performed by electrochemical techniques. Data obtained from electrochemical techniques are often correlated with molecular structure and pharmacological activity of drugs. In this regard, different modified electrodes were applied as sensors for quantification of different drugs.A nanocomposite of reduced graphene oxide-...

Direct determination of free cyanide in drinking water by ion chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection.

Cyanide is a regulated contaminant in drinking water in the United States. This paper describes an ion chromatography method with pulsed amperometric detection (PAD) that directly determines free cyanide in drinking water. Samples are treated with sodium hydroxide to stabilize cyanide and with a cation-exchange cartridge to remove transition metals. Cyanide is separated by anion-exchange chroma...
